Over the last few weeks, I have found the MSE web site and forum very helpful in giving my finances a spring clean, so thanks to the advice of those who responded to any questions I posed on the forum. Here is how my financial spring clean went.....
ISAs:- transferred all my low-rate paying ISAs (0.1% AER and 2.5% AER) from Barclays to Nationwide 3 year fixed term ISA at 4.4% AER
Subscribed to a Barclays Golden ISA Issue 3 (3.1% AER) for the current year.
Savings Account:- transferred my savings from a Barclays Bonus Saver account (0.1% AER) to a Barclays Essential Savings account (0.75% AER) and then to Post Offices 2 year fixed term Growth bond (4.05% AER).
Ongoing savings:- opened a Post Office Instant Saver account (2.1% AER for 1 year) so that I can transfer any budgeted savings to subscribe to a cash ISA next year.
Things are looking a bit brighter and cleaner.
