Hi all

I'm looking for a poweful netbook, budget isn't an issue as I've stopped smoking so I'm treating myself.

I need something portable and powerful, HDMI output and HD playback. The Aleware M11x is what I was looking at.

It comes to £789.00 whcih I know is a lot for a notebook,

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thanks

    Lucky you.

These look fantastic but I would not go with the default configuration, with something that powerful processor/graphics wise I would be looking for 4GB Ram+.

Other than that I am not sure if there really is anything else comparable, so if it meets your requirements then go for it :-)

IT really depends on what you want it for , games /office apps /surfing the web / video editing / watching tv . I would suggest giving the forum a bit more info first.

A couple of days ago I bought a HP envy 15 in.

It's got an i7 quad core chip, 4Gb ram, and 320Gb ram. I like the fact that the dvd isnt built in, but it won't appeal to all.
Apparently its got a fairly good video card in, but I wouldn't be able to judge.

Perhaps have a look at one of these? Currys had as good a high street price as any, at £900 or so. It seems to be in a similar bracket.

Fwiw, I did like the comparable alienware machine, but it worked out at quite a bit more for the cpu i wanted.

If you're a road warrior type who demands good battery life however, look elsewhere! :)

Unless you're going to be gaming, the graphics card in the Alienware is probably overkill, you can manage HD video on a lower specced machine. Also, if you're going to be storing lots of HD video you'll want something with a big harddrive, 320GB might not be enough
