Have a look at voip.co.uk for a far better deal for £1.99.0

Many providers provide a geographic number of any area, nothing special there. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

Would you recommend The £1.99 package and buying the hardware for £49.98 as opposed to taking the freedom pack at £4.99 a month?
I see that their 0800 numbers are Free to call, does this also apply to 0808 numbers?
I was somewhat confused by their mobile prices which vary depending on which page you look at on their webiste. Their higher rates are listed at http://voip.co.uk/res_mobile.html
For Sky customers the best Telephone/Broadband deal is not necessarily going to be better with VOIP
Example
With Sky - Btl Line Rental £11 + £5 for unlimited 01 & 02 calls + Free Broadband - TOTAL = £16 and able to make cheaper mobile calls via 18185
With NTL+VOIP - Lowest cost Broadband £17.99 per month (although I know that at present you can get this reduced if you keep calling them to say you are leaving) + £1.99 + the cost of daytime calls 100 per month = £2 - TOTAL = £21.98 with more expensive mobile calls + the £49.98 for the hardware.
This will of course be reduced if you can get your reduction when you ring NTL every 3 or 6 months but there is no guarantee that they will always do this or how much reduction you will get if you are a regular reduction requestor.IF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j0 -

I dont know, after 18 months or so you will have paid off the ATA.. If you buy your own you can also switch company if you are not happy with them, and go somewhere else. You can get a Linksys PAP2 for about £20 if you are prepared to hack it, otherwise it is like you said about £40-50. I bought a locked PAP2 (that I unlocked), and it is the best £20 I have ever spent.
As for 0808 I am not sure to be honest.. But drop them an email, they are usually very good at CS.0 -
I've only just cancelled my Vonage service. I had no major complaints about it. However, you must be prepared for the slightly poor voice quality since it is VOIP. I used Vonage to get a virtual number in New York. I paid £3 per month for this. This meant my relatives in New York (and elsewhere in North America) could phone me anytime for free (in most cases). I could also transfer their phone call to anyone in the UK or Ireland for free. I was also able to get 3-way calling which worked beautifully.
The reason I cancelled is that I moved over to Talk Talk which offers free calls to the US. This means I phone them instead of the other way round.

I don't use Vonage as it was too much money for what you get, but my VoIP service isn't poor voice quality, it's extremely good call quality.

I e-mailed voip.co.uk and they told me that you can call 0808 number for free so it is still possible to use the 0808 number with 1899 and 18185.IF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j0
