Password Problem

The laptop keeps forgetting passwords. Either from a reboot or even from going in to then out of a site in the same session. Obviously I'm ticking the box to 'remember' me (in the site) but the laptop is erasing them once I'm out. I've had a look via control panel - internet options but can't see where I need to correct this. Any idea's ?

What you need to do depends on which browser you are using.

For example, if it's Firefox 3, you typically need to open FF and go to Edit, Preferences, Security and tick the "Remember passwords" box.

Thanks. It's Internet Explorer, the latest version, I think it's 9.

Is your IE is not asking for save password whenever you are entering username and password on right top?

You could disable IE remember passwords and install Lastpass ( lastpass.com )
You can autofill, auto login, generate passwords etc, etc. Free, of course.
I prefer it as no passwords stored on computer and well encryted. Also if your computer goes pear shaped you can access from any pc with your one password. All your passwords, secure notes and web addresses safe.
Before anyone starts slagging me off as usually happens when someone makes a suggestion I know it doesn't solve the problem, it does avoid it and offers an alternative.
A fool may give advice but the one who takes it is the bigger fool.

The reason it is not remembering your passwords, it has not been released yet.

Your IE (8 is the latest available) is probably clearing/or not allowing cookies, but I do not have the manual for IE 9

Yeah, my mistake. I asked O/H but anyways ............. sorted now. I played with internet options. Couldn't replicate what I did or where I went, but it seems to be back to normal now.
