I cancelled and Zen called to find out why. I am moving & will be taking several months seeing friends and family so will not need broad band. He did ask if if was the monthly allowance of 5GB to which I said no but wished I had said yes to see if he would offer me more.
When I go back to BB are Zen likley to negotiate and offer more gbs per month? I asked some time ago and they said a very frim NO.

My 50p's worth:
Zen used to be 'the' quality ISP in the UK, but that's fallen by the wayside. It is now staffed by some of the rudest, most challenged individuals known in IT. When you talk about billing mistakes, poor service, bad reliability, unresolved faults, rude and incompetent support staff you would expect one to be talking about TalkTalk or BT. I always assumed they were great and whilst there are no issues and you don't need to speak with them, they are! I jumped ship to IDNET moving a dozen homeworkers with me over the course of a couple of months and I have to say they have been fantastic, even with dealing with a fault ZEN could not resolve.
Whatever you do, avoid PlusNet like the plauge. Since moving into BT ownership they get a regular slating in the UK broadband Usenet group - a place most people don't look - for appauling service and fault resolution.0 -
Obviously individual experiences may differ, but Zen is always top or near top of the annual surveys, including customer service. They even answer questions on the ThinkBroadband forums. They are fairly expensive, but in general you get what you pay for.
As to future bandwidth monthly allocations, who knows?0 -
personal experience i would suggest Newnet over Zen for lower usage, when i was with them they where great although i am with Sky unlimited now due to cost and speed i would go back to them if they could bring out a product which comes close to what i get at the moment

for the same price as you have been paying Zen you can get 12Gb with newnet or save some money each month and go for the lite package for 3gb and then buy the extra bundle when and if you need it
Additional pre-paid bandwidth,
1GB £1.37,
5GB £6.61
10GB £12.72**
you also get
**unlimited off-peak usage between the hours of 02:00am to 07:00am.
just a thought for you reallyDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Your best bet is to see if there are any LLU services available to you. Someone like Be will give you a monthly allowance of 40GB for £7.50 per month (so 8x your current allowance for less than half the price).Stompa0
