Hello All
I have decided to get on the Ipod bandwagon and bought myself a Ipod Touch. I have a problem with it though.
I had a lot of music saved on my PC that I wanted to transfer onto the Ipod. I followed the onscreen instructions and downloaded them to Itunes. Below is a screenshot of my music folder as you can see instead of creating a single folder for a album its created several. For example Now 75, there is a nearly a dozen folder for one album. How do I make it just show one for each CD from the album. This is replicated on the Ipod. I shows I have nearly 300 albums on it.

Hope someone can help.
Also any recommendations for good apps

Select all the tunes from one album, right click and go to Get Info. In the last tab (Options) change "part of a compilation" to Yes and click OK. That should then group them as one album rather than individual tracks.
If you change it to list view (Top bar to the left of the Search Box are three buttons, click the left one) you can sort by album (Click on Album at the top of the column that appears) which will make the process much easier for you.0 -

OR;
Edit the ID3 tags on the music files before you import them to iTunes - give all the compilation albums an artist tag of 'Various Artists' or something similar....0 -
In Vista, right-click on an mp3 file or group of selected mp3s, and click 'Properties' in the menu.
This gives you a dialogue box with 3 tabs- click the 'Details' tab, and you get a set of headings - Description, Media etc. Under media you can change the Artist to "Various", or vary the other attributes to suit.
XP is slightly different in terms of the style of dialog box, etc, but essentially the process is the same.0 -
