I'm not sure which section this should go in.
As we're about to move house we expect to discover a lot of things we'll want to offload now we may go for ebay to do it but just so we are aware of our options could anyone shed any light on how car boot sales work, mainly do you have to pay a fee to be able to take your car/goods?
Thank you

You pay to have a "pitch" at a car boot sale. This is the ammount you pay regardless of how much you sell but you will have a limited ammount of space. If you need a lot of space you might have to pay for a double pitch. Sometimes a better located pitch might cost more than another, especially if there is some under cover pitches available. Fees can be anything upwards from a couple of pounds. Around my area its typically four or five pounds, I have seen as high as ten. Its worth visiting a few to see what the custom is like. You need a busy sale at a good location unless you are just in it for a hobby because you'll want to sell as much as you can as quickly as you can. If you've not done this before, beware, new sellers are quickly identified and descended on by vulture like flocks of people who may cherry pick your best stuff and then sell it for more on their own stalls! Try not to let yourself be distracted from setting up. If they want it that bad they will be back or wait. Best of luck0

Pitch fees in my area are normally £5-7, with some charging extra for vans or cars with trailers.0
