Hello,
I recently brought an item and subsequently paid labour charges to have it installed. During installation it was found that the item was faulty and could not be installed or used at all. Upon contacting the supplier all they could do was offer me a refund.
I still had to pay labour charges for the installation as well as removal of the faulty item. The supplier has given a full refund. What claim do I have for the labour costs?
Thank you

are you able to give more details, is it expected that extra labour is required or are you a one of?Always ask ACAS0

The labour charges were nothing to do with the company that I brought the item from. I employed a qualified tradesman to install the item but near completion he found that the item was faulty. So he had to remove the item and then I sent it back to the company.
The labour cost was a one off yes, for installing the component and then removing it.0 -

Did the company offer their own installation service? Because that may affect thingsSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

No the company did not offer an installation service. They simply supply the item.
The item was installed by a qualified mechanic who found durring installation that the item was faulty. I still had to pay his labour charge for installing the item and then removing it and returning it to me.
Surely I must have some case for compensation for the labour cost. What if I they sent me a replacement part and that was again faulty?0 -
Was it within their contemplation that you would have a qualified mechanic to install the item?
How much are you looking to claim?0
