Discrepancies with bank and my statement?!

  • This has happened to me with the Halifax before. My statement also shows the credits first and then the debits, but if at any point during the day the account goes overdrawn due to the order of debits and credits then a letter is automatically generated and sent.

I got the charge cancelled in branch as I went in with my statement and asked them to show me where I had gone overdrawn. Good luck :)

I have my statement and a screen shot of my online account detailing how things went out inc. totals etc.

I'm just not sure whether I can just argue the case or if there is some sort of regulation I can cite? I suppose if they respond unsatisfactorily again then I'll just see what FOS say.

You need to write to the bank and get them to send a written response if you are asking for a refund prior to going to the FOS otherwise all they will do with the complaint is to send it to the bank to respond to you before you can go to the FOS
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
