Broken mobile phone....

My phone decided to break on the day the warranty ended. I phone LG and told them but their repair section was closed for the weekend, so they gave me a CNE number to pass on to the repairers on the Monday.
When I got the phone back there was still a problem with it, and within a couple of days it stopped working again.
I sent the phone back for a second time to be repaired and this time I got a letter back saying that the main board inside the phone had been warped, consistent with heavy pressure being placed on the phone. AFIK when I sent the phone off there was only a software problem, now they are saying it's a write off and it's not covered by the warranty.

You need to pursue the retailer under the sale of goods act for a remedy, if it is a write off this will most likely be a partial refund but may also be a replacement.
Consumer direct can provide advice and template letters for you to start your claim.
