Are police vehicles on the MID?

Quick question because I saw a "Suffolk SafeCam" van today and so just for irony I thought i'd get a picture - and it seems that askmid says its not insured...?

    Self insuring is carried out by lots utilities & bodies & institutions, so won't show up.

    Take a look at the tax disc on government fleets & they'll be exempt from that, too. (not Police fleets though)

    Police Vehicles have tax discs, but it's £0 rated.

    I just thought it was odd that "self insured" vehicles dont show up...

    I take it you paid for that AskMid search or were the owner or regularly drive it to if you got it for free to avoid committing an offence :p;)

    I think the Royal Mail and certain councils were self-insuring too.

    The Police do not have an insurance policy for their vehicles, although they have a 'policy' number they have a deposit or bond more often than not with Zurich Municipal.
