Wireless router set up difficulty

Hi, I'm posting this for a friend, and she says....

i need a computer expert .. need to get a wireless router's password and the wireless connection on the pc the same.. 5 or 13 asci it tells me huh ?



I'm send her the link to this thread, and hope someone can help?!

    hiya !!
    it seems to me that once the passwords are now set, the computer says it's now firewalled ?? umm ?

    get your friend to contact her isp!

    Router/adsl/wireless problems are among the longest on this board, due to the different types of equipment used and the permutation there of.

    1) Write down the router name and password from the router (often ascii character). Passwords are case sensitive, so be careful of o,O,0, 5,S, 1,i,l,I, B,8 (depends on font used too).
    2) Join pc to network named above with the correct p/w (you may have to turn the firewall and other security off, then once working turn 'em on again and create a rule)

    Sounds easy. I normally cut the key, paste it into a document on a usb key then visit the laptop.

    I highly recommend the first paragraph, as it will probably be done quickly and efficiently.

    i tried without the firewall, and it still says the same thing - that it cannot find a certificate.. it keeps saying its validating identity.. in others words it won't work :o(
