Left or Right Handed??

Just something a bit silly really - but noticed that my little kitten when playing is definately showing signs of being left handed - are all cats one or the other and are dogs the same??? (Question from son who is curious too!!!)

my dog is definitely right pawed!


she always prefers to turn clockwise, and will always investigate things with her right paw, as opposed to her left paw. it took us MONTHS to teach her to do a spin left, while it took us about 5 minutes to get her to spin right!

One of my cats is definately right pawed. The other one - still not to sure, but possibly right pawed

One of my dogs is left pawed, the other doesn't seem to show any preference (but she's a Springer and tends to do things without thinking anyway)

Yup - one uses her right paw for delicate operations (like slicing into the crunchies bag when I forget to empty it into the tin and leave it on the floor). One uses her left paw for football/screwed up newspaper ball most, they both use their right paws for opening the doors and the male prefers to thump things with his head until someone takes pity on him and picks it up/opens it/tells him he's a muppet and gives him a snack out of sympathy!

Thank you for your comments - isnt it funny I never noticed until she started playing with her treats using the same paw!!!
