need a train to norwich from birmingham
Hi guys just wondered if you have any moneysaver tips. basically i need to get to norwich tomorrow (friday) and back on saturday from birmingham.
im fairly flexible on times but i cant really leave before 1pm
the trainline was quoting around 68 pounds which i could not believe.
my friend at the university of east anglia says it normally costs him around 40.
any advice, oh and what train will i get? will it just be a standard centro one or will it be virgin voyager or what?

Unfortunately you wont be likely to find any deals going out tomorrow. Your friend may well pay £40 normally, but that would probably be an APEX fare booking outside 14 days. Unfortunately even National Express dont do Birmingham to Norwich.

actually there is a direct National Express service leaving Birmingham at 12:35 which costs £36.50 return. Doubt if it meets your requirements though especially as it takes 6 hours & the return journey is at 9:25am
personally I think you are going to have to pay the full whack0 -
Cheapest saver fare via
https://www.centraltrains.co.uk
is £54.90.
Be aware you have to change at either Peterborough or Ely on each leg.
There used to be a direct service, but Central trains get worse as time goes on.0
