LEts not start the what independent means, we all know vigilant but you will still keep on going on about it!
How can you check a status and then PM people like this after going on an internet forum. He/she could work for MI5 as far as we know!"Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." Thomas Jefferson

Mortgage advice is not normally free and the way that you pay for a broker's services can vary enormously. Some brokers are paid commission - a set fee paid to the broker by a lender for selling one of their products. An 'independent' broker has access to mortgages from the whole market and will give you the option of paying a fee for his services to avoid any risk of product bias."Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." A whole of the market no-fee mortgage broker such as L&C is not classed as ‘independent’, whereas a fee-charging mortgage broker that deals with a panel is ‘independent’.0

this doesn't tackle the question of why you would feel the need to send abusive and completely unfounded PM's to me.Happily an ex mortgage broker!0 -

My dad gave my brother the deposit for his first home. My dad had to provide bank statements showing the money in the account that would be used and how it had been raised etc., This was about 10 years ago.
My dad was a bit annoyed at the time.

Vig, you can be a very good broker and make no money! AS you always say it is about advice not sales!
My bankruptcy came nearly a year after i left the industry as I could not earn the same money in an employed role. And as you should know 2007-08 was tough for brokers. I was in my first good year with a small client bank in the grand scheme of things.
I have seen bigger and better brokers go down quicker!
Shame its not happened to you! Then again we dont know what you do as your so worried about it!
I stick around on here to try and give a bit of help, and if you look i get good responses unless it one of the keyboard warriors like you.
351 thanks in 268 posts, and my old profile was better!
Now I am off to get ready as I am going out today, off to Chelsea Vs Villa, I guess you will be sitting on here all day as thats about all you seem to do!

They have now asked for proof of how this deposit was saved. e.g. regular monthly saving (which we have done).
It makes no sense why they are requesting this (what difference would it make if we had the money in seperate accounts and chose to pay bulk amounts into our deposit account to have the money in one place??)
It makes perfect sense, as it protects the lender from people borrowing deposits or money laundering. I can't see why a honest person would be against this.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
