Dad lost his job & I want to help parents

    I dont think the change of ownership will make any difference, unless your dad was given his p45, finished and set on again.

    Also, get the employer to check his employers insurance, I had a policy that paid out to employees if I went under.

    With regards to the new employer your dad will come under TUPE whcih means his employment still counts as the 7 years service so he should get redundancy/notice for the 7 years

    Please don't forget that the age at which men and women can claim Pension Credit has changed from April 2010. The o/p dad can claim Pension Credit from 06/11/2010
