well i've had 2 or 3 lots of free books & returned trial books with no problems. must just be lucky!Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0

How do the 2 books they send with the free ones get back to them?
Do you have to ring them and they send a company out or do you have to post them back and pay for the postage?
Also do they allow you to cancel over the phone or does it have to be done in writting?
Has anyone been forced to pay money for books they sent after they have cancelled or was is sorted with losts of calls?
Thanks in advance.0 -
anyone know???0

I've just started on the Grolier cancellation.
Recieved the books today 11/08/06 even though the invoice says 07/08/06.
Not 100% happy with the print quality of the books - grainy and cheap. So I will not be taking up any membership (That's my intentions anyway).
First hurdle - Their phone lines are Mon/Fri and close at 5pm
It does look as if you have to pay for the return of the books - It mentions that you have to "Please obtain a certificate of posting from the Post Office and keep it safe." - 6 Free books now going to cost £3+ postal costs
Also concerned that the invoice is dated the 7th and if I return in the morning, it won't get their until the 14th at the earliest, so will they try and pull a fast one and say I've had my 7 days trial period
Will keep you posted....0 -
[update] I returned the 2 trial books with a covering letter explaining that I didn't want to become a member of their Disney book club.
A week or so later I got a letter confirming I'd cancelled and said that it may be possible that I would recieve a further sample that would have already been in-process.
It's probably safe to say (famous last words), that no further books have been sent out or any bills/advertising letters.
So from my experience - No problems.0 -
I've used Grolier several times over the past 5 years (since eldest was born) and never had any problems - that's whether I was just taking the freebie and cancelling, or taking the entire series.
If you call them and say you want to return unwanted books, they'll send a postage paid label.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Unless you like making lots of phone calls and ending letters, I'd keep away from this one. Canceling is like shaking a rabid, rampant dog of your leg.One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0

This site is worse than a :spam: site. It makes you pay for the books and constantly sends them to you. BAN GROLIER!0
