Thanks for the replies.

I haven't got the right cable either so have ordered one via Amazon Marketplace for £4. It's annoying when products don't come with all the necessary bits !

I've written an email to Pure complaining. When I bought the product I expected it to work, not have to buy a wire and install software just so it switches on and off properly.... I am happy to install the software, but why should I spend money buying a wire? Also, if the radio has a problem then they should fix it before selling the product...

I might fire off an e-mail to Pure as well - can't do any harm. It's certainly disappointing to encounter a problem so soon after buying a product, especially as this is the first digital radio I've bought.

Will post again if I have any progress !

This is fair tbh! If it was just to give you extras that you do not need fair enough, buy your own cable, but when it's to fix a problem where the unit doesn't even turn on, I think the cable is teh very least you could expect!:D You could well take it back to teh shop

Well, I'd already ordered a cable from a seller on Amazon marketplace, and what do you know, Pure eventually respond to my e-mail offering to send me a cable free of charge if I forward my address !!

I've replied saying that my original e-mail did state I had already ordered one as advised, & it has already been despatched, so no chance of cancelling the order, therefore I've asked if they will reimburse me the £5 cost. Won't hold my breath but it's worth pursuing on principal.

Good news is cable arrived today & I've downloaded the update & everything seems to be working as it should - just would have been easier in the first place if they had supplied the requisite cable !!

My cable should be on its way... Shame I went and bought a cable at the weekend..Oh well it might get me £2 on eBay! At least Pure are doing the right thing, but they should put the updated software on the Radio as some people may not use the internet or realise why the radio standby button isnt working! The software update seems to have solved my problem... :beer:

Pure now say they will reimburse me for the cost of the cable I had bought - just got to send them a copy of the receipt :T
