Judi no you aren't being mean, but unfortunately having a parent who will pay for it won't help.

I know sammy but he just likes to play the 'devoted dad' even if it did take 12 years to get any child support from him!!!

I am worried that when she goes to uni she will be offered credit left right and centre and will take it cos she sees it as a way to carry on spending the way she is with no consequenses - it is bad enough that she will have 32k of debt in student loans - and that is with me paying her accomodation!

Do I sound really tight thinking she should pay for some of this? I am worried that all the DFW has turned me into some form of scrooge! I suppose it's a 'big thing' these days! I have another daughter that will finnish school next year so I have this to look forward to again in the not too distant future!

I think maybe we were from a different era - one where you got Xmas presents and birthday presents, and if you were really really lucky your parents may pay for a foreign school trip, but just one. The only time I had any amount of money spent on a dress was a bridesmaids dress for my cousin's wedding, and I think my cousin paid for that!

Thanks Judi, I'll have a look at the free seeds.

Wilkinsons had some really nice planters, they're pot and fairly big for less than a tenner. I'm going to have another look next week when I have money, but I'll go to one with a car park next to it!

Thanks Snaggs...so far so good on the running..I think I have a bigger problem than pronation though-I don't wear shoes out at all on the heels, but on the balls of the feet!!! On the inside of the balls I wear the leather away completely....think its a spina bifida thing..If you see my footprints in sand there's barely any heel marks...weird!!

Come on red men-4-1 up !!!!

That's fab, thanks Scaredy! I might go back to Wilkinsons tomorrow for some more seeds, I'd love to grow aubergines.

They're great Ames, just don't expect them to be the same size as the ones in the supermarkets.
