Baptism - Am I expected to provide a gift?

A nice hardcover book of traditional stories was different from all the other gifts my daughter received. You can get a book of story collections very reasonably priced and it can be 'kept' and enjoyed for years to come. The baby will get plenty of bibles!0

nope - the only time you are expected to give a gift is if you are a god parent. it is up to the individual to give a gift - but god father is supposed to give a silver spoon (is that where the phrase born with a silver spoon comes from) and the god mother is spose to give summit else....Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0
