    Hi bits and pieces, yes you'd have thought so, wouldn't you. In fact the university states that this course is part time! But as someone pointed out to me this afternoon, it's all about targets, and they just want me off their books so they can meet them.

    No one seems to care about the big picture, which is supposedly all about getting people back into employment - and as my old sector has imploded that's exactly why I signed up for this course!!! To carve out a new career path for myself - which is no easy task in one's mid 40s.

    I left the jobcentre feeling quite criminalised and extremely upset. Have to say that the vast majority of the job advisors I've met there are fine and generally have been helpful, but the 'senior manager' I encountered on Tuesday was really quite unspeakable. She seemed to take pleasure in spelling out the situation, despite the fact they have an element if discretion and I'm now facing financial disaster.
