BT Email missing!!

I sent BT an email through their site on Wednesday 24th feb 2010, reagrding my BT services. I wanted to let them know that I would be cancelling one of my services and how do I go about doing that and sending back the equipment. This was done during the 10 days given to change my mind (day 9). I waited for a reply and the next thing I get a bill for the equipment and two months services. I contacted BT who have said there is no trace of that email..Seems really suspicious to me that they say there is no trace of it, when all the others I have sent before and after are there..They are now claiming that because I didn't tell them during the 10 days that I am stuck in a contract and have to pay for the equipment and for the rest of the 18mnth contract. Any help would be appreciated.

I can check this for you if you want, did you receive an email acknowledgement when you sent in your email? My email address is on my profile, if you can get email me with your BT account number and confirm which email address you used originally to contact us I'll see if I can trace it.
