second hand kitchen ?

our range cooker is dying and as i was bought out of a windfall some years ago there is no way we can afford to replace like with like .

so we need to buy a standard cooker which will mean we have a big gap in our kitchen - and you can no longer buy the doors we currently have .

The other option ( which maybe cheaper) would be to buy a second hand kitchen from ebay - preferably with appliances included ( or watch out for one on freecycle) and refit the kitchen .

has anyone here bought a secondhand kitchen - how was it , was it a total nightmare to make it fit ? what should i watch out for if we decide to go down this route ? any advice would be very welcome

Why not a second hand range cooker?

This is going back sooooo many years, but when my mum changed from a twin tub to an automatic washing machine, my dad built shelving for her cookbooks into the gap...or maybe something glass-fronted...or just buy roughly similar doors and paint the lot to match each other. Nobody will notice.

I'm also keeping my eye out for a second hand range cooker but becuase its not a full size range cooker I am limited in my options with that.

building something esle in maybe an option , then we would just need some new worktop

But don't keep good wine in it.

Good wine should be kept in the dark, preferably at a steady lowish temperature.

Plonk will be ok if you don't keep it there more than a few weeks.
