Hi everyone
I have just been given my new tenancy agreement to sign and it appears to be different from the last 6 i have signed. After reading through not alot has changed its just laid out differently.
There is one new bit though which i am hopeing to clarify that i understand correctly.
It says
The tenancy hereby created may be terminated by the tenant before expiration of the term certain by giving 1 months notice in writing expiring on the last day of any month.
Does this mean i now have a break clause to which i can end the agreement if i want to move ?
There doesnt seem to be any kind of get out for the landlord other than it states he has to give us 2 months written notice preceding the date that the contract runs out or if we fall behind with the rent then he can seek possesion which i believe is standard.
Now at present i have no intention of leaving i am settled here and so are the kids but it is nice to know that if circumstances change i have the option of leaving with a months notice :-)

Bump!
Anyone ?:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
That's strange, it's seems you have a very fair contract, you leave at a months notice but you have 6 month security ?
Never seen this, but thats how all TA should be!
Did you not specifically ask to be able to move at short notice inside of the agreement ?
I think they might have sent you the wrong agreement, but if it's signed by both of you, it's tough for them0 -
Yeah I thought it strange as well but I'm not going to point it out. We have 12 month contracts now as well so its nice and secure from my point of view. Thank you :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0
