Credit Searches On Different People At Same Address?

in Credit cards
Hi everyone,
My mum has recently had a couple of credit searches for a remortgage and current account and has also had 2 other searches earlier this year for Credit Cards (to balance transfer at 0%). Now I'm thinking of applying for a credit card and my brother is also. As we all live at the same address does the amount of credit searches attributed to your address impact on your credit score or is it just the credit checks in the individual names?? I know the area and postcode you live in can impact upon it but I can't find any info on whether the actual address makes a difference as obviously another 2 credit checks would make 6 at this address this year and 4 in the space of a few weeks which would be too much I think if taken together but if it's individual then I assume it would be fine. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
Regards
Michelle

Only if you're financially linked on your credit records (e.g. have joint bank accounts, are both named on the same mortgage etc). If you're not, your credit searches won't show on each other's records..0

Thanks Dan - that's just what I wanted to hear!! I thought it would probably just be if you were married etc so that's good. No we don't have any joint financial commitments, we're all completely separate. Thanks again, this means we can go ahead.
Regards

You say that. BUT on my credit file I had my Dads car loan on there - one of these 0% finance deals (all paid off but was on my file) AND I had my brothers car insurance searches on there also.
I'm not financially linked to any of these people, but we were all on the electoral register at my parents address, so I think that was maybe why their links were on my file.0 -
Oh dear - that's not right. Did you ask to be disassociated from them?
Michelle have you checked your credit record to make sure there's no incorrect information on there?.0 -
The answer should be that other peoples credit do not show on your file unless you have entered into some form of financial agreement together (eg loans, credit cards, bank accounts, buy now pay later etc) or you have been linked during fraud investigations.
Mistakes can however happen but it is simple to log a notice of disassociation with the credit reference agencies to confirm that you are not financially linked. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Hi Dan,
No I've never looked at my credit file - it's one of those things I need to do but have never got round to. I'll need to read that article about how you can do it for free and then see what they say. I'm hoping there won't be much on there - I've had a few credit cards and contract mobiles but have always paid them religiously and I have a student loan that I don't have to pay at the moment as I don't earn enough but I'm not sure if that gets put on your credit file. I've always paid everything on time and don't remember ever being turned down for anything so it should be reasonable. Thanks.
