It is clear that we, the consumers, are on our own when it comes to bank charges. We have the support of Martin and his team, of which I'm certain we are all greatful, however, more needs to be done.
It would be interesting to hear of ideas that people have and to construct a plan of action where we all do the same thing on the same day that causes the banks to lose out financially, and we can repeat these actions until they decide to take notice.
I'm willing to go all the way with this - setting up a guarantee company, website, office, the works. It has all gone on for far too long and the misery they are causing has to stop.
They all stand united in their unfairness - let us stand united in fighting it.

i hope you succeed. i suggested that we all remove all the brochures etc from banks as these cost a lot in terms of printing, distribution etc. this idea was not really supported by most people on here. doing this and then posting them back to the banks, or even to tother banks, without stamps would help royal mail raise some revenue and cost the banks even more money.0

Could have criminal implications if done on a mass organised scale -- theft? I don't know for sure though, i'm not a lawyer.
Although your idea has given me another idea --- what if we all called the bank on a certain day and asked them to send us "The Banking Code" or their Terms and Conditions. Surely if we request that they send us this in writing they have to do it. Any views?0 -

oh great. So, the minority that cant run their bank accounts correctly try and disrupt services and incur charges for those that do.I'm willing to go all the way with this - setting up a guarantee company, website, office, the works. Firstly, the Banking Code does not exist and has not existed since November 2009. Anyone stating it does is either a fool or an idiot or both.
With regards to what YOU can do. HELP OTHERS get their money back cos that is what you are talking about. READ all the available information and fully understand the judgement of the OFT Test cases as some people still do not understand it. Anything which loses the bank money is something I support because two wrongs don't make a right. Furthermore, two banks need to make a profit so that you and I make a profit since our money has been used to buy shares in two of the banks. I admire your words but anything that involves DIRECT ACTION, I would not get involved in. Good Luck whatever you decide to do.0 -

So why are you on a forum that is about reclaiming bank charges then?0 -
I know how to make them suffer.
If everybody stayed within the terms of their agreements, the banks would not be able to make any charges. Also we could try not borrowing any money for a while. That would give them the jitters.0
