Selling concert tickets on e bay

I am forced to sell my concert tickets as I am going on holiday. It was the only time my Husband could get off and the dates clash. I am gutted and really do not want to sell!

I have been 'stung' before in that a seller had Paypal give them their money back and as I think these will go for a high price I am being a bit wary. It is a long story and it was only 30 quid but, still, I was very annoyed.

Do you think I should ask for cash or a cheque? (I would need to wait for the cheque to clear, I know) At least with Paypal I know they will have paid before I release the tickets....BUT the same thing could happen to me again.

Any ideas?

  • If they sell for over £32 only send Special Delivery, make sure it's a CONFIRMED address & personally I would accept Paypal - see if from a buyer's view high value items, send cheque then seller doesn't send they have little or no come back with eBay.

  • In fact thinking about it vouchers/tickets aren't covered by normal 1st/2nd class post anyway so only offer SPECIAL regardless of price.

  • I've sold a few lots of tickets on eBay, and haven't had any problems regarding PayPal. If you're worried, just empty the account as soon as the money goes in, that way they can't take it back.
Also be aware, that if you're a relatively new ebayer, witha low feedback, you may not get as much as someone with a higher feedback.
Me and my mother in law both sold tickets for a take that concert, i got £100, whilst she only got £60m which I think was down to here 1 feedback score.

send special del and do it at cost and dont try to make/save money on postage.

I prefer to ask for chques or bank transfers for high value but think very hard if address isnt confirmed as stated as you wont be covered.

You need to ask yourself though would you send a cheque for tickets knowing you aren't covered and would have to go to an ebay claim which would cost £15 if they go astray?

So many people won't buy unless they can use paypal, so you may need to balance that against the final price you hope to get.

just to add to the mix - i dont accept paypal at all.

i have had payments for buy it now items costing £250, £150 & £399 recently all by chq.

my advice - if you think they will sell for good money & there are not that many on ebay at the moment, then just ask for chq / postal order or bank transfer. that way you keep the costs that paypal would have swallowed up!!

also check the completed items for the tickets you are selling & take a look at the final price.

by doing that you get a good idea what your tix will go for & you can then set your buy it now price accordingly, increasing the chance of getting a few extra gold pieces in your pocket!

Your best accepting paypal and always send them special delivery! I bought 4 Kelly Clarkson tickets early this year for £180 and sold 2 of them for £150 thus making ours cheaper :money:

I had no problems with the £150 payment and it went through paypal.

Is the concert a sell out . I was at a concert last week ( nearly sold my tickets on ebay ) it wasnt a sell out and we where given different seats .
If you bought tickets from ebay and then got different seats you might not be pleased .
