Natwest refused my claim.

Options
Hi all,
Well i've finally received a reply from Natwest, after nearly 4 weeks, and they have refused my claim for bank charges.
It's the same standard letter that i've read on other threads, which i can't find, which basically tells the person (in this case me) that every argument put forward, including the human one, will fail for one reason or another.
I'm unsure where i can turn now. How do you argue with a bank that's determined to not refund someone?

Have you argued financial hardship and how have you argued it?

    Hi,
No, i've not gone down the hardship route as of yet. I'm pretty sure that i qualify for it but have not done so yet.
Do you have any pointers if i go down that route?

Apart from why it took you until now to go down that route.
Are we talking current or past financial hardship?

Current financial hardship. Although when i made my claim for charges i was borderline.
Needless to say, i am in need of the charges that i've claimed for. It would go a long way to getting rid of the debt i have with my energy supplier.
Currently, more than 30% of my monthly income goes out in bills for British Gas.

Are there arrears on the British Gas bill and are any of the arrears being cleared?

Clearing the arrears pushes you back from financial hardship because you are over paying on the British Gas to pay off arrears(for current financial hardship they may decline it on that basis).

Would that include the fact that i only get £420 a month which is money for the social care of my nephew whom i am the legal guardian for?

If you are overpaying for British Gas then you have more money to overpay. Why would you overpay if you could not afford to? If you cannot afford to overpay as much then you need to speak to British Gas to lower the amount that you overpay based on your financial situation.
