Telepnone line from outside snapped

Has anyone any idea what parts I need to recconnect a broken telphone wire back together. Its the line which leads from outside into my house (Snapped by over zelous double glazing fitters.)

At the moment I've bodged it by using sticky tape but I'm sure they must be a kit or connectors suitable for outdoor use I can use.

Or any idea how much BT will charge to sort it out correctly.

I'm just upgrading to 1MPS broad band and if I dont get it fixed I'm sure my speed will be affected.

Any ideas

Thanks

That part belongs to BT and I don't think they will like you fixing it.

Inside the house, I used a 78a connection box when the carpet fitter was liberal with his stanley knife. Try B&Q or maplins for connector box with a cover.

Surely, you'll pass this cost on to the glazing firm.

If the line is the one bringing the service to your BT master socket, it is the property and responsibilty of BT. You shouldn't mess with it. You should be able to phone BT faults (151 or whatever it is these days) and report a fault on the line. BT should discover the broken wire and replace it. They shouldn't charge for this but if they do, claim off the double glazing company. They should be insured for any damage they cause on your property while working.
