Self-employed needing to mortgage

I have in mind to re-mortgage my house in order to fund the purchase of another house in order to 'do it up' (hate that phrase!) and flog it at a profit.

Trouble is, I don't know where to go to try to get a mortgage - would the high street banks even listen? I own this place outright, so it would be security for a mortgage. I am not sure anyone would look at a self-employed person would they?

Self employed people can have mortgages too!

You need to find yourself an Independent Mortgage advisor who can search the whole marketplace to find the cheapest deal for you, depending on what sort of accounts you keep. You should have no more trouble than someone employed 9-5.

Your best bet is a recommendation from a friend or ou can find independent financial advisors who also deal with mortgages at https://www.unbiased.co.uk.

You could also ask for recommendations on the mortgage board where there are lots of mortgage types that will steer you in the right direction.

Any help you need with your 'do-it-up', just post here!

    Best of Luck :D

  • Cheers Doozergal - is this forum the correct one for such posts? I don't want to be a pain in the derriere by cross-posting or just getting the wrong place.
