Quidco Cashback Site - Will It Last?

I dont know their operating model well enough to say if they are here to stay or are unsustainable. Given my employers are listed I will have to ask our Ecom exec if we pay them the standard affiliate rate or if they have negotiated higher figuresAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I think traders use them to increase their business when they need to. I notice ASDA are pulling out in September.
They have most probably got the increase in business they want.
Savy moneysavers have been using them for their insurance AND CASHBACK each year! Looks like I will have to find a new insurer next year!!0 -
I've been with Quidco since Dec 05
My totals so far: 231.01
with no failed transactions
so ... I'm a happy bunny!
Most payments take 2 months0 -
I have had around £350 off quidco in the past year or so. Currently have £88 in enquiries. I have also joined i-points and r-points, r-points are just terrible for value for money in my opinion, and i-points ... dont even get me started on them, I am owed around £200 worth of points, I have emailed them several times and get the "im hoping to chase these up in the next few days" line every time and never get an update afterwards.
On a note of things not tracking properly, if I click through to a site and I get the blocked cookie icon (kind of bottom right, just to the left of the earth icon - internet explorer) then there is a good chance the purchase wont be tracked, i lower my privacy settings for the sale, and have not had a problem with quidco tracking since (though may be through luck as well)

0ver £400 from Quidco... only one not to pay out was Zopa .and that seems to be Zopa not making it clear what the rules were.
Other than that no need to put in any enquries so far ..Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I think we might find retailers restricting the use of links for cashback sites.. as they are really meant for website advertising ...Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Don't forget rpoints also offer a cashback pricematch guarantee which so after you have made the transaction, you can claim the extra cashback that you would have received from the likes of Quidco. Usually very quick updates as well
Only been with rpoints for a couple of months but have already made over £150 so its pretty good. Only trouble I am having is that Amazon and Post Office credit card points don't show any signs of registering soon...0 -

Yep, I'll second that. I always use Rpoints as their tracking system seems better and they don't deduct your first £5 of earnings as Quidco do.
All you have to do is go to http://www.rpoints.com/hcp/ (after you've made your purchase through Rpoints and it's showing as pending on your statement), fill in saying how much you would have got through another cashback site, i.e. Quidco 99.9% of the time and all done! I've never had Rpoints turn down any claims like this - they will always match other sites and it's really easy to do so doesn't take more than a minute.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Rpoints is utter pants and I wish you lot would stop reccomending it to moneysavers. At least this thread hasn't had any referral links in it.
To the people moaing that quidco is awful because they didnt have a transaction track.....Quidco kindly provide (which no other cashback site does I don't think) a statistic to show you how good the tracking is. Tracking is NOT quidco's fault and often its the users fault....something you can't blame quidco for.
For every rpoints transaction you do, you earn 30-50% less than you would on quidco. I don't even see the point of using rpoints?
Don't mention the HCA or whatever it is. It's a hidden part of the system, 'regular' users are unlikely to know it exists. Why put a claim in anyway!? Just get more in the first place?!
As for the user who 'lost' 400 quid, he/she fails to mention how. The ONLY reason this would happen would be because of abusing the system. I.e. having multiple accounts or finding a nice little earner and abusing it. (i.e. the collect at store thing).
I've earnt over 1k from quidco so far. Not had any problems apart from the retailer issues, such as declined transactions and the retailers tracking.
If I was using rpoints, I would have been lucky to earn £600 out of that 1k. Would have given the site £400 of it. I'd rather keep £395 of it and give a very very low fee of £5 to quidco.0 -

Some of this is the normal 'churn' of retailers one gets on such sites. But some is as a consequence of abuse. This was posted by Quidco a few weeks agoLast week we received an email from the network Magazine Group manages their program through asking us to remove them from Quidco. Apparently they had read posts on a popular message board where members were recommending taking up multiple trial offers and then cancelling them in order to get the £4.80. Obviously they weren’t too happy to read this and thus reacted by pulling their program from Quidco.
Magazine Group was a popular merchant on Quidco and most members were genuinely interested in the magazine subscriptions. Unfortunately those genuine members will no longer be able to receive cashback on these offers due to the activity of others who were only looking for a short term gain.
In similar vein Ebay pulled their affiliate program after the 'fill yer boots brigade' abused the Buy it Now facility by making multiple purchases of 1p Ebooks and similar. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
