Fraudulent Transactions

Hi all,
I have recently purchased some tickets from a company I thought to be reputable. With the tickets not arriving when they said they would I started doing a bit of digging and it turns out that the company/website is a scam.
I paid nearly £250 for the tickets which were bought using my Visa Delta card (so not Credit Card).
What are my rights in this situation? Obviously I must inform my bank of the fraudulent transaction, but am I able to reclaim the money for this transaction given that it is fraudulent and will no doubt warrant a police investigation?
Kind Regards,
Paul.

Have you reported it to the police?0

Hi,
No, not yet, I was just wanting to find out what my rights were first before doing anything as I have heard that Banks etc will sometimes try and mislead you as to what you can do in situations like these.

Hi Paul
So sorry about your situation - it definitely should be named and shamed here in forums Praise, Vent & Warnings.
Report to Trading Standards, also may be worth looking at whois.domaintools.com to see who they are?

Which website should we avoid?0
-
Hi,
The website is worldwideticketstore dot com
I actually used the website to find my tickets, but then booked over the phone because there seemed to be a problem with the site. Website telephone number is not answered now, no response.
I hope my Bank will refund my money, anyone know what my rights are with regards to this as I did use a card bearing the VISA symbol?0 -
You will be ok with a Visa debit card.
Why oh why did you not use a credit card for a £250 purchase?0 -
I thought the Visa debit card transaction had to be for less than £100 to claim:-
While Section 75 doesn’t apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you paid on a Visa debit or electron card, or Visa credit card under £100 (otherwise go for Section 75). Known as Visa Chargeback, this is part of Visa’s internal rules and not a legal requirement.0 -
Sorry mate I will correct you before you begin
Dont go reporting this transaction as fraudulent as the bank wont entertain it. You willingly gave your card details and entered into a transaction with the merchant concered. Therefore it is not a fraudulent payment in any banks eyes, you have simply paid for goods which you have not recieved.
You paid on a Visa DELTA card, i would assume as posted before, you would have chargeback rights so you are not going to be at a loss.
Tell the bank the facts, you paid for tickets. have not recieved them by the expected delivery date and you have tried to contact the company etc etc. Should get it sorted ok.0
