It might have been £9.99 i can't remember!

The original question still stands though, any idea if everyone is included or just the newbies?

It's still £9.99 if you go direct to the Primus site but £8.99 for newbies going via the homephonechoices comparison site.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    As the site http://www.homephonechoices.co.uk/article.asp?id=primus-exclusive-line-rental&partner=mse says

" The reduced £8.99 Home Phone Saver tariff is only available to new customers. Households that previously signed up to the tariff will continue to pay the price when they signed up."

Be Carefull not to sign up via their website direct.

    Its a 18 month rolling contract.

"2. Duration - This Agreement shall come into full force and effect from the date of acceptance by Primus and subject to earlier termination in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement, will continue for a minimum initial term of eighteen (18) consecutive months, including the month in which acceptance occurs (the “Initial Term”). After this Initial Term, this Agreement shall renew automatically on an 18 month basis, subject to earlier termination in accordance with terms and conditions of this Agreement. The Agreement may be terminated by either party on prior written notice only in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. "
