If you are not happy with the car, return the bankers draft, we can cancel the draft and re-credit it to your account immediately.
You only require confirmation of non-receipt when the draft has been lost/stolen as the bank are not able to cancel drafts without some kind of proof from the payee that they have not received the draft.
Although paying by draft is safe/secure from the buyers point of view a seller may not release the goods until payment has "cleared" Most banks will still treat drafts as cheques nowadays due to the amount of cheque fraud - yes thanks to the minority of fraudsters the majority of honest people have to suffer!
Also if you bought the car and say a week later something major happened to it you are not able to cancel the draft, in effect payment by draft is the same as cash.
Hope this helps - I am sure Barclays will re-credit your account as long as you still have the original draft in your possession.0
