Norwich Union House Insurance.

 I cancelled my original House Insurance with Norwich Union in December 05. My new policy was also with NU - 1/2 the price with my new mortgage company. NU continued to direct debit me for the old policy.....I know I know, I should have checked (I'm the queen of procrastination!!)...Anyway I contacted them THREE times..once in March....then in May.....then July. By April, I had a letter from their debt collectors. I faxed the new policy details to them 2x (they claimed they hadn't received either fax);I then posted the policy details. Another letter from the Debt Collectors.
When I contacted them in July, the person at the other end of the phone informed me that 'the girl who was dealing with your claim has left and your information hasn't been dealt with yet'. I asked for the name of the actuary who promised to deal with the claim for 3 months refund and I took a note of it and then asked for the complaints contact details.
I fired off a letter and, with the knowledge I now have...courtesy of this wonderful site......asked for compensation for the distress and time this process had caused me. Hand on heart, I would never have had the nerve to do this before.
I have received an apology ANDDDDD £20.00 vouchers to spend at Love2shop. :j :j :j
