Date Change

Does anyone know what would have caused my laptop to change the date to read 2052? Just noticed it - would it have caused me any problems?

posssibly, if you have updated virus definitions, saved files etc the software will find it is now looking at dates prior to your last update and may get confused.
ie updated antivirus yesterday - file will be 6th April 2052, checks for update today, latest available file 7th April 2010 so will not update. If you are lucky will only use version number which will of course be correct and no harm done.

Yes lot's of problems coming down the line, I assume you have read the date from Windows not the DOS bootstrap screen !

    - cause ?, no idea, sounds like a BIOS f*rt - in which case Windows will never be able to correct it
    - correct it in Windows, and if that doesn't work [ after a reboot ] correct it in your BIOS
    - if you don't know how to change your BIOS settings come back here and ask.
