I started my grocery challenge this week and even with lining trays with food bags for liquids then reusing them I have nearly run out of the few foil trays I had. I really want foil as I like them being able to go in the oven for lasagnes etc but the only place I'd ever seen them was lakeland and just look at the prices!

Obviously buying them from there would cost me more than ready made food but does anyone know where to get them really cheap? I've been looking on ebay and have found only two

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4444647438&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Is that about the best price I'm going to find or does one of you longer term OS peeps know somewhere cheaper?
Thanks for any replies.

Poundstretcher were much cheaper than anywhere else locally, e.g. the individual portion ones (suitable for shepherds pie etc.) were 12 for £1, but elsewhere they were 9 or 10 for £1. They had lots of other sizes too, which looked equally good value.

Hmmnm thank you for the replies. Sadly I'm in Farnborough, Hampshire and according to the sites for those stores my nearest poundstretcher/instore is 4o miles away and my nearest Home Bargains is in Northampton which perthaps explains why I had never heard of either of them lol!
Any idea of prices in the supermarkets you mentioned Floss?:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
In Doncaster we have a Chinese Food Wholesalers, and they sell all kinds of foil trays, the ones they use in take aways. They are extremely cheap, something like 2p each. The herbs and spices are also very cheap.
Do you have anything like this in your area?
If not Wilkinsons or Asda sell them, I think they are 10 for 99p0 -
how about poundstretcher
tesco have them for 1.99 but they are the Bacofoil Oblong Portion Tray Plus Lid X 3, the price is from tesco online shopping, the price may be different instoreNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Wilkos definatly do them as I get mine from there

I used to work for Lakeland so was lucky enough to get their products at a reduced price, the thing with their stuff, is it is VERY good quality which does not always come cheap. One thing I will say about the foil trays and the loaf tin liners, is they can be used again. I use the foil trays at least 3 times for lasagne and the loaf liners are also usually good for 3 uses, providing you use them each time for the same as the original. IYSWIM !!.
I tried to use a poundstrecher one again the other day and I left most of it stuck to the bottom of the pasta !!"Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0 -
