I have never noticed any difference in speed between any cards.

Don't waste your money on so called hi-speed cards that are over priced.

I run Tomtom on an Ipaq and a Nokia phone using cheap SD cards, and it works perfectly

Many people on the forums of,

    https://www.pocketgpsworld.com

have reported problems with lower speed & inferior brand cards. Some are only minor issues like tomtom running slow & some cause it to repeatedly lock up.

I just got a XDA mini .. do you not find it really slow .. only has a 195mhz processor which is not very good for what is otherwise an super piece of equipment.
I have a M5000 as well and that is 3 times faster .. altho it is 3 times larger as well.

Can be overclocked (at your risk!), I overclock mine to 272 MHz just for skype (won't run without it), IE & tomtom & have never had a problem. Some info at

I've just had to buy a second SD card as the original one I purchased to use for a downloaded map with my TomTom does not work as it was to slow (even though it was rated at 66X), so it appears there is some value to the hi-speed SD cards, at least with some equipment.
