Unfurnished or furnished!!!

Today, i signed a ast for flat, which i presumed was furnished (as was advertised and shown)~, took the keys, and was greatly surprised when i walked in to find no funiture. According to the landlord they always had instructions on paper for a unfurnished property. The letting agents had closed offices by then, now i have night to spend in a empty flat! I only have verbal evicence frm myself and my partner who viewed the flat with me about the 'furnishing', the ast is with the letting agents and i think it said furnished...if it does say unfurnished is there any way i can get out of this contract? in short is there a minimum period within which i can cancel a ast? like for eg most goods have a 14 day return policy~! thanks for your advice!!!

The local Trading Standards Office may be able to help you but you also need to keep your wits about you. Did you sign the AST without (a) reading it through and/or (b)looking at the inventory sheet?
