My conveyancers have written to me saying that there is an additional charge of 125 pounds on my conveyancing for a "second title number"
I have searched a few threads here.
It turns out that although I am buying a freehold house my garage is leasehold.
Is it this or something else, please enlighten me

Yes. The lease is registered separately to the freehold.
Have you Completed? If so, you should have had it explained much earlier by your conveyancers that the garage was leasehold. How long is the lease?0 -
there should be an extra charge if you were a seller, and I would agree most certianly for a Buyer, as they have to go through title twice and report to you now on a possible 20 page lease when they quoted for simply freehold. £125 is quite reasonable. My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o0 -
the lease is 995 years and the charge would be 20 pounds a month (240 pounds a year) but that will include the garage and general upkeep of the area like maintaining garden etc. sounds ok, an expense neverthelessInside I am THINKING.0
