reclamation?

The 1960s house we are buying has a fireplace in perfect condition which we will be removing. Is there a reclamation market for them, or is it not worth bothering as it is only 50 years old?

    I wish you luck
Can't hurt trying the ebay approach as suggested lapat.

But if you ( I just have ) ebay , most 'cheap' fireplaces are 'pick up ' only
because of the weight , So its a limited market .
After failing :D on ebay , then its local freecycle ,
then you start thinking whats the cheapest way of just getting rid of it!

    What is it made from?

    Wood, limestone, iron etc.

Most 1960s fireplaces were hideous and now worthless but there is a good market for some types of old fireplaces, especially cast iron and tiled.

Check out your local Yellow pages or online. If ebay doesn't work you might be able to get a shop or trader to buy it from you.

I'm glad that everyone thinks that 'only 50' isn't old. I'll be 50 later this year. :D
