Hi all,
I am new to this site, hope i have posted this in the right place.
I previously purchased a car with Capital Bank Plc but got into a bit of a mess when the car was written off and the finance was outstanding. Anyhoo this was passed over to a debt recovery company originally called BuchananClark & Wells (now changed to Apex Credit Management) & been making regular monthly payments. I thought I would give them a call out of curiosity to see how much was left outstanding, the advisor (who was quite cheeky) tells me that they had an email from the original client (Capital Bank) to close the account and that I should have cancelled the standing order.
How was I expected to know to do this when neither Apex or Capital Bank contacted me?! What should I do? Contact Capital Bank or just cancel the standing order?
Thanks
ps hope this makes sense.

Well in likiehood you have completed your payments and that is why the account is closed.
I would suggest you DSAR both Apex and Capital bank and see what the position is. Very possible you have overpaid and are due money.0 -
Or that capital wrote the debt off but apex said nothing and kept collecting. Ask for a statement of account0
