Did I jump the gun??? No sign of life!!!

A few weeks back, after a run of nice weather, I suddenly panicked that I'd left my seed sowing too late and planted 6 each of beans, courgettes and brocolli... however I think I might have jumped the gun... 2 of the courgettes have germinated and are doing well, one bean is on the grow and two brocolli's (these are really spindly, looks like a weed lol - does that sound right??). Should I assume the others are not going to germinate if they havent by now and just wait another couple of weeks and try again with a few more??

I did my cherry tom's at the same time and about 10 out of 15 have grown, I think they are okay.

No movement on my carrots but they are in the greenhouse so might take a little longer... the Dig In newsletter said it was okay to plant them in March.

Your carrots will take longer I dont think i saw a peep from mine in 4 weeks.

    Are your courgettes outside?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Everything bar the carrots are inside, I think the courgette's / brocolli / bean's are not on the sunniest sill, is there any point in moving them to a sunnier spot??
  • At germination stage i think warmth is the most important factor, when the first shoots begin to grow then move to the sunny spot :)

Maybe I should pop the un germinated ones into the airing cupboard - what do people think - good idea or cut my losses and try again??

for the beans and courgettes you can have a dig around the compost to see if they have rotted or if they are about to germinate. They don't need the compost to be wet to germinate, just moise otherwise they will rot.
