Was told today that only the imac lines and the new ipad have ips screens? Apple sales person told friend at work that his new flashy laptop did indeed have an IPS screen and not a TN like he would have found had he gone down the dell/sony route. After looking up on google today as he mentioned the image colour reproduction wasn't as good as his imac workstation, he found that they have standard TN screens. As he's getting in to graphics and professional artwork, he was more than a bit annoyed!
If thats true, then what the hell is the price premium for?

I would be annoyed too.
As far as I know, MacBook Pros have TN screens. IPS display aren't very common in laptops.
A bit silly of your friend to buy a MacBook Po now, when Apple are rumoured to be releasing new models this month, but you live and learn I guess. If thats true, then what the hell is the price premium for?
