Tell me about it! When I had the second carbon monoxide leak she told me 'I see this at work all the time. Just take the battery out of the alarm and put the heating back on!'
You need to report this to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Officers. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Thank you for that, very interesting!
But if I go down this route, do I lose the opportunity to potentially get her fined for 3x my deposit as she hasn't put it in a deposit scheme?0 -
Just wanted to pop a quick note to say I finally had a call from my landlady today.
She has asked me to meet her on Saturday so she can return my deposit. She never mentioned deducting anything from it. I have asked my mum to accompany me.
My partner says not to hold my breath as she's is very unreliable, but I am hopeful that this is an end to a horrid situation without the need to go legal.0 -
Make sure it is in cash rather than a cheque, which will probably bounce. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Yes, I said as much to my mum.
I didn't want to give the landlady my bank details as I'm worried what on earth she'd do with them given her own situation is clearly dire. I didn't feel safe doing so.
If it turns out to be a cheque, I will make a photo copy of it before I bank it. I'm going to take my paying in stuff with me just incase. It wouldn't surprise me if it was to bounce.
Fingers crossed it is cash.0
