6 year default not gone - Equifax

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice.

I had a default that was settled on 2 August 2000. Experian have removed it but Equifax have not. I have phoned up and the woman said phone back next week? I thought they had to be moved after 6 years.

Whats the vibe with defaults ?

Ive got a few which were issued in 2004 when the doo-doo was hitting the fan.On CCCS at the moment.

Will they always be on my record, or will they drop off in years to come ?

    Bring it on !!!

So in theory, in another 4 years I wont be showing the defaults ? And I could go for a mortgage ?

I'd still be on CCCS so would expect to pay the extra interest.

You may have just made my Friday !!!

I'm pleased. If you can build up your credit rating in the meantime. Catalogue or something. Small amounts, pay regularly.
