Tap water tastes of medicine?!?

Has anyone had this before? Occasionaly I notice this, but over the last few days I can't even have a drink from the taps(even boiled tastes yucky..)

    Have they been working on pipes in your area ?, might be worth ringing your water company and asking.
    I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

    weve moved from there now but a previous house the water always tasted of plastic unless you ran the tap for about 20 seconds..wierd unless it was just down to having plastic pipes

    Does it taste a bit like TCP? This is a fairly common problem caused by the chlorine in the water reacting with rubber hoses and tap fittings. It usually seems to be worse in the summer as well for some reason. The following link gives some advice from Mid Kent Water:-
