I freely admit I have an addictive personality. I skirted very close to an alcoholic for a short period in my early teens (kicked by mid, fortunately), I still smoke (that's the next one!), and I love to save money. It gives me a kick. An adrenaline rush. A sense of achievement and accomplishment. It's also easy to 'keep score', and try to beat it every month. Even if just by 1p.
Hang on a minute.....

depends if you include your pension in the third(33pc ) or not!!--well done Lee for savings towards a life change like becoming mobile--my saving is irrational because there is no real target!
i quite agree that i have wasted too much of my life and need to start living! as i said i cant do sport now like i used to but i stopped too early in life--at 31 and regret that and miss it sorely--i got married then and started thinking about plans of financial security!--life became too serious and i lost my soir de vivre-so please seize life!---a reaccuring thread in my calculations seems that i presume all money will stop coming in when i am 65--and how will i pay the mortgage off!!--the way i am stressing i wont reach that age lol---its illogical because i am in minus numbers on ltv!(2 homes)--still wont stop me saving but from this thread i have gained insight into myself and am stepping out of my zone and getting a gym membership today for the whole family--i will do it with joy and terms over 12 months with a heavily reduced rate!!--that makes me feel good!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
