Transferring a secure Excel document to iPhone and keeping it secure

I'm still finding my way around my i Ohone and I need to transfer an Excel document from my laptop to my iPhone firstly.
Then I would like that document to be very secure on my phone so that only I and my partner could access it should it be required. something like a password to access it would be fine.
Any suggestions on either of these?

Zip it up with a password for protection or in Excel save the file as a password protected file.0

Not sure how about the security of zipping the document but the password protection for excel is painfully easy to crack.
Are there any iPhone apps that may be able to help with this anyone?0 -
if your excel data is so sensitive that you don't trust excel password protection then I would never store it on a device as unsecured as a mobile phone or laptop that can be stolen in an instance.
However, I would make sure you use a password with a combination of UpPer and l0wer ca5e l3tters, numb3rs & ^symb0ls and be at least 10 characters long.0 -
Are you transferring the file to your iPhone so you can view it or so you can transport it and transfer it further from there?
If to view, there is the "pin" option of securing your iPhone in the first instance (to access your phone at all). Also, there are some Apps which can edit excel documents directly as well as store your files with a password. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I use iDisk for my storage needs.0
