Does your council have a list of approved contractors? I went with one that was on our council's list and it cost us £450 for the dropped kerb - my cousin was quoted £800 from another on the list.0

We got a quote from the council of almost £1100 to drop our kerb .. so a freind of a freind did it for us and cost us just under £200.

Someone reported us to the council, who came out, but said there was nothing they could do as it had been done and just approved it .. costing nothing
I'd see who could do it for you and drop grid at the same time if poss.0
